Tuesday - Across the sea 'from' Ireland

Today we had to be up before we went to bed so that we could be driven to Rosslare for the ferry to Fishguard, Wales.

The check-in and boarding process was efficient and very quick, then we had the longest tunnel to walk through to get to the ship. A bit bigger that the  Bluebridge or Interislander, we sailed with Stena Lines. The Irish Sea was like a mill pond and the three hours passed very quickly.

In Fishguard we were met by Ceri, our new driver for our time in the UK. Don't quite know how she fitted all of the suitcases into the smaller coach, but she's done it.

Although we are now in a smaller vehicle the views are still magnificent.

Our first stop was the Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter. http://www.welshquilts.com/  Find out about how and why this very interesting lady decided that her mission is to save the heritage that is Welsh Wholecloth quilts. A wonderful facility and we were lucky enough to see the latest Kaffe Fasset quilts hanging too. There is a great Gallery Shop too, with vintage quilts and bits for sale.

  1. Aww...I'm feeling a bit jealous. I was in that Quilt Centre in 2010 and it was lovely. I also went to the home of Jen Jones...a great woman. Great pics Lesley. :-)
